Karen Copeland Governance Expert + Co-founder
Karen has enjoyed a professional career in both the public and private sectors as a senior executive in human services and information technology.
​
Her government experience includes public policy, program development, service planning and delivery in the UK and Australia. She has been responsible for managing and for service delivery funds of over $1.2bn.
​
Her private sector experience includes working for multinational companies IBM, SAP and Curam SW. As a global subject matter expert, Karen was the bridge between human service and technology professionals, supporting government agencies in their adoption of enterprise solutions, digital technology and mobile first innovation.
​
Karen has sat on government and NFP Boards, has participated in and chaired many committees across service, business and financial obligations.
​
In her school years she owned and rode horses at pony club level and for pleasure. Currently she manages a boutique stud and agistment property in the Lockyer Valley, Qld.​
​
Karen holds a Bachelor of Social Work (University of Qld), an MBA (RMIT), Master of Environment (Griffith University tbc), is an ANZSOG alumni and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

With her service and technology background, Karen is convinced that equiprove, as an equine knowledge platform, will see Australia as a world leader in equine data and information services.
